The new seminal book on plurality has launched!

Plurality Institute is excited to announce the launch of Plurality: The Future of Collaborative Technology and Democracy, co-authored by Steering Committee members E. Glen Weyl and Audrey Tang, in collaboration with the Plurality community.

Plurality presents a vision for digital technology that supports democracy and cooperation rather than polarization and inequality, drawing on lessons from Digital Minister Audrey Tang and her collaborators – architects of Taiwan’s acclaimed digital democracy.

From augmented deliberation tools like Pol.is to new models for digital identity and commerce, Plurality presents strategies to radically enrich our collaborative projects while ensuring no one is left behind. These ideas promise to transform every sector, from health care to media, as illustrated by the way the book was written: as an open, self-governing collaboration of voices from around the globe.

Plurality has been endorsed by a wide range of prominent voices, including: His Holiness the Dalai Lama XIV of Tibet, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, leading democracy scholar and Harvard University Professor Danielle Allen, and influential MIT economist Daron Acemoglu.

It can be read for free online or on GitHub, with physical copies available for order. To contribute to the project, please join the Plurality book Discord community. For those interested in reading and discussing the book with community members, we invite you to join the Plurality Institute reading group.
